Good hagwons don't have to advertise vacancies as they're immediately filled with personal recommendations from current teachers. There is a window the hagwon needs to hurry up with and it's the 6-9th month area to make the foreigners quit before they hang on too long and receive severance and return airfare at the end of their contract. The boss hired his childhood best friend to drive the hagwon bus and brought him to the big city from the small farming town where they were from so me and the boss and the bus driver used to go hard like 3 nights a week. It was lots of dinners and drinks and noraebang on the company credit card, lots of festivals, seeing movies together. OK hagwons don't need to go to the expense and hassle of hiring from abroad and can get teachers currently in Korea.
